چکیده
Background: Breast cancer is the most frequent among female population globally. Therefore, early detection helpful for effective treatments and to reduce mortality rate. Mammography a radiological examination done with low-energy X-rays detect abnormalities in breast tissue. This study aims review literature evaluate techniques, protocols, conversion factors used determine diagnostic reference levels (DRLs); within Asian continent using both phantom- patient-based data.
Methods: Related articles were systematically reviewed via Pub Med, Google scholar, freehand search aid of relevant terms. abstracts English screened, suitable selected after reviewing full-text. Four hundred thirty screened relevance, 12 selected.
Results: The comprises four phantom-based eight studies. studies varied between types test subjects, factors, compression thickness, dose calculation protocols. obstructs continuing DRLs updates comparisons countries. Establishments countries are less than rest world. should be measured continuously, updated based on other clinical parameters patients.
Conclusion: mammography from time different geographical locations Asia by following various techniques. But when compared regions world, there consideration establishing Asia. There standard protocols according advancements technology ensure radiation protection optimal absorbed appropriate image quality.

Local Diagnostic Reference Levels for Some Common Diagnostic X-Ray Examinations In Sabzevar County of Iran
Introduction: Diagnostic reference level (DRL) is a useful tool for the promotion of optimization. The national DRLs (NDRLs) are useful, brief, and robust guidelines for optimizing radiation protection in a country. The aim of this study was to extract the local DRLs (LDRLs) for some common radiologic examination in Sabzevar county. Materials and Methods: There are eight radiology departments ...
متن کاملThe need for national diagnostic reference levels: Entrance surface dose measurement in intraoral radiography
Background: Intraoral radiographies are the most frequent X-ray examinations in humans. According to International Commission on Radiation Protection (ICRP) recommendations, the selection of a diagnostic reference level (DRL) should be specific to a country or region. Critica l organs such as thyroid gland are exposed to X-rays in intraoral radiography and these exposures should be kept as low ...

Background: To suggest South India CT diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) by collecting radiation doses for the most commonly performed CT examinations. Materials and Methods: A pilot study investigated the most frequent CT examinations. 110 CT sites were asked to complete a survey booklet to allow the recording of CT parameters for each of 3 CT examinations during a 1 year time period. Dose...
